Seven Springs House
Project Brief: The complete refurbishment of a country house with the objective of low energy use and greenhouse gas emissions for the existing house, new extensions and a swimming pool. The extension was built to reduce energy consumption and water consumption with natural, low carbon materials. Work undertaken, * Local stone, recycled from demolitions was used to construct new elements of the building. * Lime mortar was used to lay the stone. * Lamb's wool insulation significantly increased the insulation levels. * Replacement, high insulation, timber framed windows installed. * Ground Source Heat Pump to heat the house, swimming pool and domestic hot water. * Low energy LED lights throughout to reduce electricity costs and CO2 emissions.
